We also have partner programs to allow organizations to purchase Memberships at a volume discount.

Charitable Giving Databases

Our databases are tailored for those seeking grants in the U.S., Canada, and internationally. They feature private grantmakers that accept inquiries and proposals from a variety of organizations.

This includes private foundations, corporate foundations, community foundations, and corporate contribution programs. A number of faith-based funders, association grant programs, and other grant programs are also included in the databases.

The databases provide the ability to search for grantmakers giving in a geographic area and areas of interest. Each grantmaker has a funder profile page to help the grantseeker decide if they should reach out to that grantmaker.

Funder Profiles

Funder profiles include:

  • Primary contact information
  • Current funding priorities, geographic scope, grant guidelines, and application deadlines
  • Hyperlinks to funders' emails and websites
  • Notes that provide "insider" information on selected funders

All funder profiles are updated on a regular basis and include a corresponding date-stamp. In addition, profiles are revised periodically throughout the year to reflect changes in application procedures and/or funding priorities.

Government Databases

For our Members in the US, we have a database of federal opportunities drawn from grants.gov. For each state, we provide a page for each state listing the agencies with grant programs.

For our Members in Canada, we provide a page for each province listing the agencies with grant programs.

Our Newsletters

GrantStation publishes three newsletters highlighting upcoming funding opportunities: the weekly GrantStation Insider, which focuses on opportunities for U.S. nonprofit organizations; the monthly GrantStation International Insider, which focuses on international funding opportunities; and the monthly GrantStation Canadian Insider, which focuses on Canadian funding opportunities. Our Members are automatically subscribed to the weekly Insider, but anyone can subscribe to these newsletters.

Customer Service

Developing and maintaining a reputation for excellent customer service is one of GrantStation's hallmarks, and an ongoing mission. While some organizations have replaced frontline employees with technology or do-it-yourself service, GrantStation is committed to delivering outstanding, responsive person-to-person customer service in a timely manner.

Our Origins

In 1999 Cynthia Adams founded GrantStation in rural Alaska. She explained, "Julie Kaufman and I were dodging wandering moose, but found a little cabin that would do just fine as a workspace. It even had oil heat, which is a big plus since it means we didn’t have to chop wood! Even so, when the winter temperatures hit 20 below or colder, we found ourselves wrapping sleeping bags around our legs and wearing wool socks and winter boots inside. But Julie and I were so intent on making this new business work that we barely noticed the cold as we walked from our homes, through the woods, to the cabin each morning."

Since those humble beginnings, GrantStation has grown into a company that has provided tools and training to hundreds of thousands of organizations around the world.
