After School All-Stars Federal Way WA US $10,000 Asas puget sound "academic readiness"career exploration opportunities (ceo)" program initiatives, which provide educational enrichment and workforce development programming for approximately 600 low-income, underrepresented students at three middle school sites in south king county. Academic readiness and career exploration are integrated into our comprehensive after-school programs, which typically run monday through thursday for two hours after the bell rings. To encourage consistent student engagement, we align our program schedule with the school calendar and structure it around three enrollment sessions throughout the year.
Alaska Development Corporation Juneau AK US $50,000 Alaska development corporation supports the program delivery organization for alaska, jedc, to provide robotics programs to k-12th grade students in over 70 communities. Teams at each level end their season with an in-person or remote tournament or festival with the excitement of a sporting event run by hundreds of volunteers statewide.
Alaska Geographic Anchorage AK US $5,000 Alaska geographic youth have the opportunity to join a unique backpacking expedition aimed at expanding their outdoor knowledge and expedition experience while continuing their stewardship projects and engagements with public land agency staff in the tangle lakes archeological district of the alaska range. Participants will have the opportunity to learn about outdoor industry careers from experienced guides and participate in stewardship projects led by the bureau of land management staff, giving them hands-on experience in conservation and stewardship efforts. The trip is entirely free of cost to the participants.
African Community Housing & Development Seatac WA US $5,000 Achd's education programs specialize in hands-on experiential learning, with a focus on outdoor and steam education. All of achd's education programs incorporate whole-family holistic case management to ensure that children have the resources and support they need to thrive. All our programs are specifically tailored to be culturally- and linguistically relevant to african diaspora immigrants and refugees' unique and specific needs, while also integrating current wa state education standards. Achd piloted our curiosity lab program in partnership with highline public schools, serving middle school students with hands-on after-school and weekend stem enrichment programming. This autumn, achd will launch our high-school level curiosity lab program, which integrates college readiness and one-on-one tutoring with our unique curiosity lab model.
