Series Overview:

Grants can help your nonprofit secure the necessary resources you need to fulfill your mission and support your community. However, it’s often a struggle to deal with the complex and competitive nature of developing grant proposals, especially if your organization has limited resources.

During this three-part series, Alice Ruhnke will help you navigate the intricacies of grantwriting so you have the knowledge and tools needed to unlock different forms of grant funding.

All webinars are 90 minutes and begin at 2 PM ET.

Webinar Descriptions:

Developing Grant Proposals 101
January 8th

During this foundational session, Alice Ruhnke will walk you through a systematic process to apply to all your grantseeking efforts in order to reduce the stress related to proposal writing. She’ll introduce a planning tool that can be used again and again by your organization, saving you time and energy in your grantseeking efforts.

You’ll learn:

  • the essential sections that comprise 95% of all grant applications;
  • how to navigate confusing grant-related terminology so you understand what funders really want;
  • the best practices on how to write each section;
  • how to use a Program Planning Framework to connect all the pieces of an application together; and,
  • strategies to infuse your organization's strengths in your proposal to make it even more competitive.

Logic Models . . . More Than Extra Work
February 3rd

During the second webinar, Alice will make logic models much less mysterious by showing you how you already use them every day. You’ll discover how logic models can help you quantify those “hard to measure” outcomes that tell your organization’s true story.

You’ll learn how logic models can help you:

  • write persuasive proposals;
  • enlist dedicated volunteers;
  • retain talented staff; and,
  • build support for innovative ideas.

Writing Capacity Building Grant Proposals
March 3rd

During the final session, Alice will define and discuss the fundamentals of capacity building grant proposals. She will introduce you to a practical approach with examples based on real experiences.

You’ll learn:

  • the differences between “regular” grant applications and capacity building grant applications;
  • how to craft compelling capacity grant proposals;
  • the common pitfalls you must avoid in order to get funded; and,
  • how to find the perfect funders who want to help you build capacity.

You’ll walk away from this Power of 3 series with invaluable and practical knowledge and strategies you can use to elevate your organization's grant success in order to create a lasting impact.
