Description:

Many nonprofits know their work creates meaningful change, yet struggle to clearly capture and communicate the full scope of their impact. Outcomes extend beyond simple metrics, partnerships create ripple effects that go undocumented, and valuable learning often stays informal or trapped in people’s heads. Traditional evaluation tools can feel disconnected from real-world experience, leaving teams without a shared way to name, visualize, and tell the deeper story of their work.

During this webinar, Sarah Barton will introduce Ripple Mapping as a practical, visual approach for documenting and communicating nonprofit impact without adding unnecessary evaluation burden. She’ll walk you through how ripple mapping works, when it’s most effective, and why it’s especially useful for surfacing outcomes, relationships, and influence that are often missed in standard reports and proposals.

You’ll learn:
  • the purpose and structure of Ripple Mapping;
  • how to facilitate a basic ripple mapping process with staff or partners;
  • how visual mapping can surface outcomes, relationships, and secondary impacts; and,
  • how this approach can strengthen grant reporting, proposals, and impact narratives.

You’ll leave with a simple, repeatable activity you can bring back to your organization to support learning, alignment, and impact communication.
