Economic empowerment refers to the process by which families and communities are aided in breaking cycles of poverty and achieve greater independence. There are many different nonprofits involved in this space - but these nonprofits are only able to do their good work thanks to the generous funding provided by economic empowerment grants.

These grants can be used for all kinds of purposes, including workforce development, job placement services, career coaching, small business support and financial literacy courses. There are many different organizations that might provide these kinds of grants, including many private foundations such as the Robin Hood Foundation. 

When drafting an economic empowerment grant proposal, it's essential to use relevant data to back up your case. You need to prove that there is a significant need within your targeted community, that your nonprofit is uniquely suited to address. Relevant data could include local poverty levels, or demographics of wealth gaps relating to race and gender. Good places to get started could include the U.S. Census Bureau.
