Economic justice is the process by which fair and equitable access to economic opportunities are opened up to communities, particularly to marginalized communities. There are many nonprofits who make it their mission to pursue greater levels of economic justice. These nonprofits are only able to do what they do, of course, thanks to the generous funding provided by economic justice grants.

These grants can be put towards all kinds of purposes. This could include policy advocacy to address inequality, community organization for labor rights and tenant protection, or legal aid for issues such as wage theft of discrimination. There are many different kinds of organizations that are involved in this space. Thai includes many private foundations, such as the Marguerite Casey Foundation or the NoVo Foundation. 

When drafting an economic justice grant proposal, it's essential to use relevant data to back up your claims. You need to prove that there is a significant need in your targeted community, which your nonprofit is uniquely suited to address. Examples of relevant statistics could include demographics on local income and employment, or information on access to financial institutions and credit.
