Hospice care provides compassionate end-of-life care for those with terminal illnesses, giving them a chance to rest with comfort and dignity. With an aging population, hospice care is ever more important. But there are significant disparities in end-of-life care within the United States. This is where hospice profits step in. 

These nonprofits can only do their essential work thanks to the generous funding provided by hospice grants. These grants can be used to cover a wide range of costs, including patient care, nurse salaries, hospice training and facility improvements.

There are a range of organizations that are involved in hospice care grants, examples including the Retirement Research Foundation, the American Cancer Society and The Cambia Health Foundation. 

When drafting a hospice grant proposal, the collection of data is essential. You need to prove that there is a gap in hospice care within your targeted community that your nonprofit is uniquely suited to address. This sort of data could include local demographic data on aging populations and terminal illness rates, local patient outcomes and community needs.
