The Northwest Territories represents a vast swathe of Canada, with beautiful, untouched landscape and a unique culture defined by its Arctic climes. There are many challenges facing the inhabitants of this territory, however, many relating to its great size. Much of the region is still in need of development of infrastructure, healthcare services and education. This area is also among the most affected by climate change. 

There are many nonprofits that have made it their mission to help tackle the various issues facing the Northwest Territories. These nonprofits are only able to pursue their missions thanks to the generous funding provided by Northwest Territory Grants. These grants can be put towards all kinds of purposes, including cultural revitalization, infrastructure projects, social services and environmental conservation. 

There are many different kinds of organizations that might provide these sorts of grants. This can include territorial agencies such as the NWT Arts Council or community foundations, such as the United Way NWT. 

When drafting a grant proposal targeting a particular region, it's essential to use data that is accurate, relevant and local. Good places to start collecting this data could include Statistics Canada or the NWT Bureau of Statistics.
