Rural areas in America often have unique challenges when it comes to healthcare - and yet it can be much harder for those rural areas to access quality health care. There are many nonprofit organizations out there that are dedicated to servicing rural areas. However, they are only able to do this good work through the generous donations provided by rural health grants.

The funding from rural health grants can be put towards a wide range of purposes. These could include programs that enhance telemedicine, upgrade rural clinics or deploy mobile health units. This funding can also go directly towards training and paying local healthcare providers in rural areas.
