School-to-work programs provide students with invaluable hand-on experiences in the forms of internships and vocational training. There are many nonprofits who make it their mission to better prepare students for future careers. And these nonprofits are only able to do this thanks to the funding provided by school-to-work grants. 

These grants can be put towards the establishment of apprenticeships, internships, mentorships and job placement services for high school and college students alike. There are many different kinds of organizations that might write these sorts of grants. This includes many private foundations, such as the W.K. When drafting a school-to-work grant proposal, you’ll want to back up your claims with data. Relevant data could include employment rates for young adults, gaps between educational attainment and workforce demand or employer demand for skilled labor.
