Conflict resolution is an essential tool for sparing vulnerable populations the worst excesses of war and injustice. There are many nonprofits dedicated to missions that involve the reduction of violence, social divides and political tensions. These nonprofits are only able to pursue their missions, of course, thanks to the generous funding provided by conflict resolution grants. 

These grants can be put towards all kinds of purposes. This could include mediation, legal aid, peacebuilding programs or intercultural dialogue projects. There are many different organizations that might provide these kinds of grants, including many private foundations such as the McConnell Foundation, the Threshold Foundation or the United Nations Democracy Fund. 

When drafting a conflict resolution grant proposal, it's essential to use relevant data to back up your claims. You need to prove there is a specific need that your nonprofit is uniquely suited to address. Depending on the goal of your nonprofit, you may need to collect statistics on conflict indicators, demographics of at-risk populations or outcomes of previous peacebuilding work.
