Prepare for U.S. Federal Grant Submission (if applicable)

The process of applying for a U.S. federal government grant can be a daunting task. To make it less imposing, you can perform this pre-work for submitting your requests:

You can register on both of these sites free of charge. If you come across a website that charges, check the URL to make sure you are on the correct page. While there may be other requirements depending on the federal agency, these two items are the minimum requirements to apply to federal agencies. A little warning as you get started in this process: There are a lot of acronyms to work through! 

Grants.gov

Before applying for a federal grant, you need to register with Grants.gov. The registration process is fairly straightforward and can be completed in minutes. Open your web browser to grants.gov.
