Youth Housing and Job Readiness Initiatives Funded
Home Depot Canada Foundation
Application deadline: Applications will be accepted from February 17 to March 7, 2025.
Grant amount: Up to $75,000
Description: The Home Depot Canada Foundation is committed to preventing and ending youth homelessness in Canada. The Foundation’s Youth Opportunity Grants are awarded to youth-focused programs expanding stable housing, job readiness, and wrap-around support. Support is provided for housing renovation, homelessness prevention, and employment and job readiness programs. Registered charities are eligible to apply.
Grants Advance Investor Awareness
Canadian Investment Regulatory Organization: Restricted Fund
Application deadline: March 31, 2025
Grant amount: Grants typically will not exceed $100,000.
Description: Through the Restricted Fund, the Canadian Investment Regulatory Organization (CIRO) supports nonprofit and charitable organizations focused on investor education and protection in Canada. The funding assists organizations in developing programs that promote investor education and protection, with a special focus on underserved communities. Grants enable organizations to deliver educational programs, research projects, and investor protection initiatives that benefit Canadians and the capital markets. Priority is given to initiatives that serve low-income Canadians, racialized communities, youth and seniors, newcomers to Canada, LGBTQ2S+ individuals, and persons with disabilities. Program support is provided. Eligible applicants include registered charities, nonprofit organizations, and universities or colleges.
K-12 Environmental Education Projects Supported
Learning for a Sustainable Future
Application deadline: March 7, 2025
Grant amount: Up to $500
Description: Learning for a Sustainable Future (LSF) is a Canadian charity whose mission is to promote, through education, the knowledge, skills, values, perspectives, and practices essential to a sustainable future. LSF’s Action Project Funding provides small grants for K-12 students and teachers throughout Canada to engage their school and community in climate change and sustainability action projects. Projects must be student-led and relate to climate change or other sustainability issues. This could include greening a schoolyard, eliminating single-use plastics at school, motivating the community to reduce their carbon footprint, or anything else students can think of! Scholarships Facilitate Skills Development for Fundraisers
AFP Foundation for Philanthropy Canada
Application deadline: March 15, 2025
Grant amount: Up to $1,000
Description: AFP Foundation for Philanthropy Canada, the philanthropic arm of the Association of Fundraising Professionals and its chapters in Canada, supports the fundraisers who are the change agents in communities across Canada. The Foundation's National Scholarship Program offers Canadian fundraising professionals working for charitable and nonprofit organizations the opportunity to develop their knowledge and skills in fundraising. Financial scholarships cover registration and travel costs for educational programs at the local, national, or international level.
Funding Improves Health Education and Access to Medicines
Innovative Medicines Canada Corporate Giving Program
Application deadline: January 1, April 1, July 1, and October 1, annually
Grant amount: Grants and sponsorships of up to $10,000 are provided.
Description: Innovative Medicines Canada provides grants and sponsorships for projects that raise awareness, develop educational programs, and enhance access to innovative medicines in Canada. Funding priorities focus on improving access to innovative medicines, health advocacy and improving the health of Canadians, disease awareness, and health and science education. Priority is given to key partners, including patient and consumer groups, healthcare professionals, the academic and business communities, and the life sciences sector.

Support Enables NWT Sports Organizations to Purchase Equipment
KidSport Northwest Territories: Community Equipment Program
Application deadline: March 15 and September 10, 2025
Geographic scope: Northwest Territories
Grant amount: $500 to $2,000
Description: Through the Community Equipment Program, KidSport Northwest Territories supports community organizations in their efforts to increase participation in sports. Grants support projects in the Northwest Territories that are intended to increase sustainable, quality, participation-based sports programs by helping to offset the cost of sports equipment. This may include new programs or the expansion of existing programs. Community sports organizations, schools, and local sports clubs are eligible to apply. (KidSport Northwest Territories also offers grants to low-income families to cover sports registration and equipment fees for youth.)
Funds Available for Calgary Organizations
Nickle Family Foundation
Application deadline: March 31 and September 30, annually
Geographic scope: Primarily the Calgary, AB, area
Grant amount: Typically $5,000 to $20,000
Description: The Nickle Family Foundation supports agencies providing services to people living in the Calgary region, and may consider supporting Calgary-based charities providing services elsewhere. The Foundation’s areas of interest consist of 1) inclusion, including Indigenous peoples, people with diverse abilities, new Canadians, 2SLGBTQIA+, and other underserved communities; 2) youth, including education and mental and physical health; and 3) animals and the environment, including wildlife rehabilitation, environmental conservation, and animal rescues and shelters. Priority is given to organizations with operating budgets below $2 million per year.
Grants Promote Mental Health of NS Children and Youth
Gordon Foundation for Children and Youth
Application deadline: March 31, September 30, and December 31, annually
Geographic scope: Nova Scotia
Grant amount: Up to $3,000
Description: The Gordon Foundation for Children and Youth funds initiatives that improve the mental and emotional well-being of children and youth in Nova Scotia. Grants are awarded through two programs: The Speakers Program sponsors speakers on topics that are relevant to the mental or emotional well-being of children and youth. Special Projects grants support initiatives that reflect and support the mental health and well-being of children and youth. Examples of previously funded projects include a sensory room for special needs children, a newsletter project for youth in care, theatrical productions, and school trips for urban students to visit rural communities. Funding is available to registered charities, nonprofit and non-governmental organizations, and schools with a charitable status number. (The Foundation also offers the Doctor Gerald Gordon Memorial Award, which has an annual deadline of January 31.)

Geographic scope: Canada
Description: Engage and Sustain fosters a vibrant foundation for the arts in Canada by supporting arts organizations at the heart of Canada’s creative communities. This program funds organizations that are dedicated to developing excellence in arts practice, advancing the arts through programming, and exposing a diverse public to a range of artists and creative works. Artistic Catalysts core grants support the activities of Canadian arts organizations rooted in communities for the creation, production, and dissemination of work. Artistic Institutions core grants support the activities of major Canadian arts institutions as leaders in the development of arts practice.
Funds Enable Immigrants to Work in Their Field of Study
Employment and Social Development Canada
Application deadline: None for concept papers
Geographic scope: Canada
Description: The Foreign Credential Recognition Program provides funding to governments, organizations, and community groups for programs that contribute to the integration of skilled newcomers and migrant workers in their field or related field of study. Projects must be national in scope, address priority occupations and sectors representing skill shortages in Canada, or have been identified as a priority by provincial and territorial governments.
