The Pollination Project

Grant amount: Daily Grant Program funding ranges up to $500. Farmed Animal Protection Grants range up to $1,000 for first-time grantees. 
Description: The Pollination Project seeks to uplift grassroots changemakers whose work helps build a kinder, more compassionate world for all. The Project provides support through two programs: The Daily Grant Program awards small grants to kickstart a volunteer’s or grassroots organization’s work and give them the lift their project needs to thrive and grow. Farmed Animal Protection Grants support individuals and groups working to protect and advocate for farmed animals and to transform the industrial food system to prioritize plant-based foods and alternative proteins. Eligible applicants include individuals, informally organized groups and organizations, and formally registered or incorporated nonprofit organizations based anywhere in the world.

Grants Benefit U.K. Charities Working at Home and Internationally
Chrysalis Trust

Application deadline: May 15 and December 15, annually
Geographic scope: North East England, the U.K., and global
Description: The Chrysalis Trust supports local projects in North East England, national organizations providing benefit across the U.K., as well as international projects of charities registered in the U.K. The Trust’s funding priorities consist of relieving poverty and disability, and providing access to shelter, education, healthcare, and water. Support is provided for both capital projects and core funding. Registered charities based in the U.K. are eligible to apply.

Storytelling Projects Raising Water Awareness Funded
National Geographic Society: Freshwater Storytelling

Application deadline: April 22, 2025
Grant amount: $20,000 to $100,000
Description: The National Geographic Society, in partnership with the Conrad Hilton Foundation’s Safe Water Initiative, has issued the Freshwater Storytelling request for proposals inviting storytellers to create and disseminate content that raises public awareness about sustainable freshwater use. This initiative seeks to illuminate global freshwater challenges, particularly in sub-Saharan Africa, North Africa, Western Asia, and the Middle East. Projects can take various forms—including photography, film, and data visualization—and should focus on issues faced by communities, such as last mile households, low-income households, women and girls, and children, in achieving equitable access to freshwater. Projects may also highlight specific solutions to these challenges, and elevate the voices of individuals, organizations, and communities at the forefront. Individuals are eligible to apply. Applicants should show a record of successful media projects and must submit a portfolio as part of their application packet.

Support Expands Open Data and Content Infrastructure
IOI Fund for Network Adoption

Application deadline: April 30, 2025, for pre-applications (Applicants must first complete a network readiness assessment.)
Geographic scope: Africa, Latin America, and North America
Grant amount: $1 to $1.5 million USD
Description: Invest in Open Infrastructure (IOI) is now accepting proposals for the IOI Fund for Network Adoption. Backed by Wellcome, Digital Science, and the Kahle Austin Foundation, the Fund aims to catalyze the shared adoption, implementation, and expansion of open data and content infrastructures to foster collaborative research, focusing on Africa, North America, and Latin America. The Fund prioritizes projects that demonstrate a clear understanding of local needs, foster community engagement, promote universal access and participation, and contribute to addressing critical global challenges.

Community and Viticulture Initiatives Funded in France
Penfolds Evermore Grant Program

Application deadline: April 20, 2025
Geographic scope: France
Grant amount: Up to €120,000 is available in the current funding round. 
Description: The Penfolds Evermore Grant Program reflects the company's commitment to making a positive contribution towards a world where future generations can thrive. In 2025, applications will be accepted through the France Grant Program for projects in the following thematic areas: Community, focused on projects that support communities to thrive by fostering connection, experiencing culture, or increasing community resilience; and Winemaking and Viticulture, supporting projects that contribute new approaches, thinking, or innovation that supports a resilient and thriving winemaking industry. Eligible applicants include nonprofit and community organizations, educational and research institutions, businesses, and individuals based in France.

Funding Targets Early Childhood Development in South Africa
Jim Joel Fund

Application deadline: Applications are accepted from April 1 to 30, annually.
Geographic scope: South Africa
Description: The Jim Joel Fund, part of the Childwick Trust, supports the early childhood development sector in South Africa. Funding is provided to organizations that work to improve access and the quality of early learning programs for the most marginalized of young children and their families. The Jim Joel Fund does not provide funding to ECD sites (preschools/creches). Please visit the website for information on what is funded to avoid disappointment.

Prize Honors Education for Sustainable Development Projects
UNESCO-Japan Prize on Education for Sustainable Development

Application deadline: April 18, 2025
Geographic scope: Global
Grant amount: Three awards of $50,000 are made.
Description: The UNESCO-Japan Prize on Education for Sustainable Development (ESD) honors outstanding projects or programs by institutions, organizations, and other entities engaged in ESD. The Prize recognizes the role of education in connecting the social, economic, cultural, and environmental dimensions of sustainable development. Projects must be ongoing and have been running for at least four years, show presence of evidence of results and a high impact relative to the invested resources, be replicable and scalable, and contribute to one or more of the five priority action areas of the ESD for 2030 framework. Nominations can be submitted by governments of a UNESCO Member State, via their Permanent Delegation to UNESCO, and by non-governmental organizations in official partnership with UNESCO. (Self-nominations are not accepted.)

WASH Initiatives Supported in Selected Countries
UNICEF Sustainable WASH Innovation Hub

Application deadline: April 30, 2025
Geographic scope: UNICEF program countries
Grant amount: Initial grants of approximately $150,000 USD are made. 
Description: The UNICEF Sustainable WASH Innovation Hub, part of the UNICEF Office of Innovation, sources, accelerates, and scales transformative water, sanitation, and hygiene (WASH) solutions to drive lasting impact for children and their families. The current call for applications seeks proven innovative WASH solutions with potential for accelerated scale. Solutions must address one or both of the following innovation challenges: 1) strengthening supportive environments for WASH small and medium enterprises, and 2) enhancing climate-sensitive data and integration into WASH programming. Awardees will receive access to an initial grant in flexible funds to support evidence generation, feasibility studies, and market understanding and assessments. Registered non-governmental organizations, universities, companies, UN organizations, and government agencies are eligible to apply.

Funds Strengthen Europe’s Social Economy
European Commission

Geographic scope: Europe
Grant amount: The estimated total call budget is 13,300,000 euros, to be distributed to an estimated eight to ten projects.
Description: The call for proposals entitled Action Grants to Support EU Networks Active in the Areas of Social Economy, Social Enterprise Finance and Microfinance aims to support the development of social economy and social finance in Europe. Grants will contribute to building up the institutional capacity of stakeholders delivering support to social economy entities (i.e. cooperatives, social enterprises, mutual benefit societies, associations, and foundations), as well as those supporting the development of social finance (i.e. microfinance, social enterprise finance, and social impact investing) in Europe. Non-governmental and nonprofit organizations based in EU Member States, European Economic Area countries, and countries associated with the European Social Fund Plus are eligible to apply.
