Grants Promote Spanish Arts and Culture
Acción Cultural Española (Spanish Cultural Action)
Application deadline: April 30 and September 7, 2025
Geographic scope: Spain and Global
Description: Acción Cultural Española (Spanish Cultural Action), or AC/E, seeks to promote Spain’s rich and plural artistic legacy and foster the internationalization of its most contemporary creative and culture sector. Support is provided through the Programme for the Internationalization of Spanish Culture (PICE) through the following programs: The PICE Visitors program allows agents and programmers from leading foreign cultural entities, both public and private, to travel and participate online in events in Spain and learn about the offer of the Spanish creative-cultural sector to incorporate it into their programs. Candidates can be proposed by Spanish public institutions. The PICE Mobility program allows foreign cultural organizations to include Spanish artists, professionals, and creators in their programming by receiving economic incentives. Candidates can be proposed only by foreign institutions. The PICE Residencies program aims to encourage cultural entities to incorporate Spanish artists, professionals, and creators, or those residing in Spain, in their residency programs. Supported fields for all three programs include architecture and design, visual arts, film, comic and illustration, dance and circus arts, literature and books, music, podcast and digital audio, theater, and video games and animation.
Oral Health Initiatives Funded
Oral Health International Foundation
Application deadline: June 1, 2025
Description: The Oral Health International Foundation aims to promote the advancement of oral healthcare globally to those in need. Through the Share a Smile Grants Program, the Foundation offers financial support for charitable dentistry projects. Eligible applicants include U.S. 501 (c)(3) and 509(a) organizations as well as organizations outside the U.S. with tax exempt status.
Prize Honors Women's Efforts to Improve Rural Lives
Prize for Women's Creativity in Rural Life
Application deadline: April 30, 2025
Grant amount: Laureates receive a $1,000 cash award.
Description: The Prize for Women's Creativity in Rural Life, a program of the Women's World Summit Foundation, aims to honor women and women's groups around the world exhibiting exceptional creativity, courage, and commitment for the improvement of the quality of life in rural communities. The Prize seeks to draw international attention to laureates' contributions to sustainable development, household food security, and peace. Nominees should be women and women’s groups currently active in rural life whose efforts have not yet been acknowledged by other awards. (Self-nominations are not accepted.)

Geographic scope: China, India, Singapore, and Vietnam for the CapitaLand Community Resilience Initiative; Asia for the Lighthouse Fund
Description: Asian Venture Philanthropy Network (AVPN) Philanthropic Funds is currently accepting applications through two opportunities. The CapitaLand Community Resilience Initiative supports nonprofit organizations operating in China, India, Singapore, and Vietnam for work in the following impact areas focusing on children and youth (up to the age of 21 years): education, skills development, physical health, and mental health and well-being support. The Lighthouse Fund seeks to nurture and amplify innovative solutions to mitigate climate change impacts on public health in Asia.
Funds Aid Children Affected by War and Disaster
Peace of Mind Foundation
Application deadline: None
Geographic scope: Conflict and crisis settings, with a current emphasis on the Middle East (The Foundation is also actively looking for partners in Sudan.)
Description: The mission of the Peace of Mind Foundation is to provide mental health and psychosocial support to children affected by war and disaster. The Foundation finds, funds, and supports frontline organizations that are supporting children from conflict and crisis settings. The Foundation is especially supportive of arts-based therapeutic approaches.
Grants Bolster Civil Society in Mexico
Alianza Surge (Surge Alliance)
Application deadline: Applications for the Movement Action Fund will be accepted from May 14 to June 12, 2025. Applications for the Political Situation Fund will remain open until September 2025.
Geographic scope: Mexico
Description: Alianza Surge (Surge Alliance), an initiative of Open Society Foundations, Hewlett Foundation, Ford Foundation, and Avina Foundation, aims to strengthen civic space and civil society in Mexico. Support is provided through two funds: The Fondo para la Acción desde los Movimientos (Movement Action Fund) supports civil society organizations, grassroots collectives, and social movements in Mexico that aim to transform structural conditions at the local level. Support will be provided for initiatives influencing at the municipal, state, or federal levels to expand access to rights and advance social, racial, and gender justice, as well as for initiatives democratizing power, strengthening citizen participation, promoting sustainability in territories, promoting the redistribution of power and resources, and fostering peace and citizen security. The Fondo de Coyuntura Política (Political Situation Fund) supports opportunities for rapid and strategic action in specific political or social contexts to achieve progress towards human and environmental rights and the strengthening of democracy and participation, or to avoid setbacks in access to human rights, justice, or environmental sustainability. Geographic scope: Belgium, France, Italy, Luxembourg, Portugal, and Spain
Description: The Indosuez Foundation, an initiative of Indosuez Wealth Management, seeks to promote social inclusion and the education of vulnerable people. The Foundation works in France, Belgium, Spain, Italy, Luxembourg, and Portugal. The Foundation supports concrete community projects to help vulnerable people, including those who are elderly, disabled, or young adults who are victims of addiction or risky behavior. Nonprofit organizations are eligible to apply.

Achievements in Biosphere Management Honored
UNESCO: Michel Batisse Award for Biosphere Reserve Management

Geographic scope: Global
Grant amount: An award of $12,000 is made.
Description: UNESCO's Michel Batisse Award for Biosphere Reserve Management, awarded every two years, recognizes outstanding achievements in the management of the biosphere reserves in line with the recommendations of the Seville Strategy. The Award acknowledges completed work accomplished within a Biosphere Reserve in the World Network. Applications must be endorsed by a MAB National Committee or a National Commission for UNESCO.
Grants Enhance the Quality of Life in the Caribbean
Embassy of France - Eastern Caribbean States, Barbados, and OECS
Application deadline: May 18, 2025
Geographic scope: Antigua and Barbuda, Barbados, Dominica, Grenada, Guyana, Jamaica, Saint Kitts and Nevis, Saint Lucia, Saint Vincent and the Grenadines, Suriname, and Trinidad and Tobago
Grant amount: Grants range up to €5,000.
Description: The Department of Cooperation and Cultural Action Small Grants Programme aims to support innovative projects from civil society organizations in selected Caribbean islands. Supported projects must focus on one or more of the following thematic areas: ocean (marine health, biodiversity, etc.), sports, cultural and creative industries (including heritage development and conservation), Francophonie, youth support, and health. Projects presenting one or both of the following cross-cutting themes will be given preference: gender equality and addressing the needs and challenges faced by women and girls; and regional integration, especially if they include partners from overseas French Caribbean territories.
