Efforts to Empower Single Mothers Funded
Paul Barber Foundation

Grant amount: Up to $30,000 per year for up to four years
Description: The Paul Barber Foundation's Uplifting Single Mothers Grant, 2025 aims to help empower and build stability for single mothers and their children in Canada. Multi-year funding is awarded for programs in any Canadian province or territory that align with one or more of the following goals: 1) empower single mothers to improve their economic well-being through career advancement, education, or training; 2) promote stability in the lives of single mothers and their families by alleviating challenges such as childcare costs, housing instability, or access to affordable necessities; 3) help single mothers access the support and resources they need such as mental health supports, legal assistance, or access to healthcare, etc.; and 4) provide support to single mothers in vulnerable demographics, such as young mothers, women living in low-income households, and women experiencing physical or mental health challenges.
Awards Honor Youth Environmental Leadership
Earth Island Institute NLI: Brower Youth Awards for Environmental Leadership
Application deadline: May 20, 2025
Geographic scope: Canada, Mexico, the U.S., and U.S. territories
Grant amount: Six awards of $3,000 are made annually.
Description: The Brower Youth Awards for Environmental Leadership, an initiative of the Earth Island Institute’s New Leaders Initiative, recognize the outstanding leadership efforts of young people who are working for the protection of the planet. Youth ages 13 to 22 who are living in Canada, Mexico, the U.S, and U.S. territories are eligible for the awards. Recipients receive a $3,000 cash prize, a short film produced about their work, and a trip to participate in leadership development activities.
Support Improves Healthcare and the Quality of Life in Canada
Roche Canada Corporate Giving Program
Application deadline: None
Description: Roche Canada's corporate giving program provides support across Canada. Philanthropic donations are provided to registered charities working in the areas of arts and culture, community development, environment, education, science, and humanitarian and social projects. Grants and sponsorships are also provided for medical education and research as well as projects that support improvement to the healthcare and patient ecosystem as a whole. Eligible applicants for this type of support include Canadian healthcare organizations and entities, patient organizations and advocacy groups, academic institutions, and other stakeholders across the healthcare system. Grants Bolster Safety for Women, 2SLGBTQ+, and Non-Binary Individuals
Houssian Foundation: Daylight Fund
Application deadline: April 25, 2025
Grant amount: $10,000 to $25,000 over one year
Description: The Houssian Foundation's Daylight Fund aims to address the safety needs of women, 2SLGBTQ+, and non-binary individuals across Canada. The pilot fund supports registered charities and qualified donees directly working on gender-based safety issues. Grants can be applied toward operating costs or specific projects or initiatives.

Meridian Credit Union: Good Neighbour Program

Geographic scope: Company communities in Ontario
Description: Meridian Credit Union's Good Neighbour Program supports organizations helping to build resilient communities in Ontario communities served by the Credit Union. The Credit Union supports community projects, initiatives, and events. Initiatives must target one or more of the following areas: housing affordability, financial access and confidence, climate resilience, community support, and diversity, equity, inclusion, belonging, and reconciliation. Registered charities and nonprofit organizations are eligible to apply.
Programs for Children and Vulnerable Populations Funded in Saskatchewan
Saskatchewan Indian Gaming Authority Sponsorship Program
Application deadline: None (Requests are reviewed monthly. Requests exceeding $10,000 must be submitted at least 120 days before the program start date.)
Geographic scope: Saskatchewan and within an 80 kilometer radius of the Gold Horse Casino in Lloydminster
Description: Through its sponsorship program, the Saskatchewan Indian Gaming Authority (SIGA) supports organizations in Saskatchewan and within an 80 kilometer radius of SIGA's Gold Horse Casino in Lloydminster, which is on the border of Saskatchewan and Alberta. SIGA’s sponsorship program supports organizations that benefit children and youth (especially First Nations and at-risk youth), seniors, the socially and economically disadvantaged, and those with disabilities. Eligible sectors include arts and culture, education and training, business and tourism, sports and recreation, and health and well-being. Registered charities and nonprofit organizations are eligible to apply.
Grants Target Respiratory Health Initiatives in British Columbia
TB Vets Charitable Foundation

Geographic scope: British Columbia
Description: The TB Vets Charitable Foundation is dedicated to supporting the frontlines of respiratory care in British Columbia. The Foundation awards grants to hospitals, universities, search and rescue teams, and related institutions to purchase respiratory equipment or to fund research, training, or programs that support respiratory causes.

Description: The Building Communities Through Arts and Heritage—Local Festivals program provides funding to local groups in Canada for recurring festivals that present the work of local artists, local artisans, local heritage performers or specialists, and local First Nations, Inuit, and Métis cultural carriers. Eligible applicants include community-based groups such as local nonprofit organizations, groups, and band councils, tribal councils, or other local Indigenous governments or organizations.
Grants Assist Nonprofits Starting Early Childhood Centers in PEI

Application deadline: Applications will be accepted until October 31, 2025, or until program funding is depleted.
Geographic scope: Prince Edward Island
Grant amount: Up to $200,000
Description: The Non-Profit Organization Child Care Start-Up Grant supports nonprofit organizations interested in opening a new licensed early childhood centre including infants and toddler-aged children in PEI. Eligible costs include new construction, building purchase, and fit-up as well as materials or equipment required for licensing or designation.
