Grants up to $25,000 Assist New Free Clinics
American Academy of Family Physicians Foundation: Family Medicine Cares USA

Application deadline: July 15, 2025
Grant amount: Up to $25,000 for new clinics and up to $10,000 for existing clinics
Description: Family Medicine Cares USA, a program of the American Academy of Family Physicians (AAFP) Foundation, helps new and existing free clinics to care for the uninsured in areas of need across the United States. Reimbursement grants fund the purchase of durable medical equipment and instruments necessary for the diagnosis and treatment of primary care patients. Priority is given to new clinic applications, though support may be provided to existing clinics if funds are available. Applicants for a new clinic grant must have opened or be open within six months of the application deadline, have received or be in the process of receiving the National Association of Free and Charitable Clinics' Seal of Excellence, and have an AAFP member in a leadership role within the clinic.

Funding Boosts U.S. Fire Departments
Leary Firefighters Foundation

Application deadline: August 15, annually, for letters of inquiry
Grant amount: Typically $2,500 to $25,000
Description: The Leary Firefighters Foundation's Jeremiah Lucey Grant Program provides funding to paid and volunteer fire departments throughout the United States. Support is provided for training to enhance the professional development of fire departments, equipment to help keep firefighters and the communities they serve safe, and technology to ensure that fire departments update along with technological advances.

Autism Peer Education Efforts Supported
Organization for Autism Research: Peer Education Grant

Application deadline: June 30, 2025
Grant amount: Up to $10,000 for school district-wide projects and $500 to $5,000 for projects of lesser scope
Description: The Organization for Autism Research (OAR) is committed to increasing autism acceptance through the Peer Education Grant. Support is provided for projects that use OAR’s peer education materials to increase autism awareness and acceptance. Example projects include awareness campaigns, workshops, and presentations. Teachers, administrators, parents, youth group organizers, and autism professionals interested in organizing an autism awareness initiative at a school or other community-based organization may apply. Eligible organizations include but are not limited to K-12 public schools, districts, libraries, and 501(c)(3) nonprofits in the United States.

Program Empowers Rural Youth Engaged in Creative Arts and Culture
Rural Youth Leaders

Application deadline: June 16, 2025
Description: Rural Youth Leaders (RYL), a collaborative initiative, aims to uplift and invest in the leadership of creative young people and the cultural stewards who support them in rural communities. Teams from six rural communities across the U.S. and tribal nations will be selected, each consisting of two emerging leaders (aged 18-24) engaged in creative arts and cultural traditions, one cultural steward mentor, and one nominating organization. The youth leaders will participate in a fellowship, accompanied by the cultural steward. Teams receive $2,500 stipends for each youth fellow and $10,000 to support the cultural steward and nominating organization, as well as leadership development grounded in creative arts and cultural traditions, mentorship, project guidance, and other supports.

Improvements to Community Football Fields Funded in NFL Markets
NFL Foundation Grassroots Program

Application deadline: June 30, 2025
Geographic scope: Selected NFL target markets
Grant amount: Up to $250,000
Description: The NFL Foundation Grassroots Program, managed by Local Initiatives Support Corporation, provides grants of up to $250,000 to support capital improvements for community football fields in specific NFL target markets within the U.S. The goal is to improve the quality, safety, and accessibility of local football fields serving low- to moderate-income areas. Eligible applicants include nonprofit, community-based organizations, as well as schools and parks and recreation departments that are collaborating with local nonprofits. A 1:1 funding match is required. (A list of eligible NFL target market geographies is available in the request for proposals.)

Support Advances Arts and Culture in Minnesota
McKnight Foundation: Arts and Culture

Application deadline: None
Geographic scope: Minnesota
Description: The goal of the McKnight Foundation's Arts and Culture program is to catalyze the creativity, power, and leadership of Minnesota artists and culture bearers. Funding supports organizations, programs, and projects that provide support structures for working artists and culture bearers to develop and share their work, and to lead in movements and communities. Priority is also given to organizations working to cultivate strategic partnerships that provide direct support for individual artists and culture bearers, develop and sustain underrepresented artists and cultural institutions, and support working artists and culture bearers advancing justice. The first step in the application process is to contact the Foundation's Arts and Culture team. (Awards and fellowships are also offered to individual artists.)

Grants Enhance NY Parks, Trails, and Public Lands
Parks & Trails New York: Park and Trail Partnership Grants

Application deadline: June 26, 2025, for Professional Development Grants letters of intent, and August 29, 2025, for applications in all categories
Geographic scope: New York
Grant amount: Up to $300,000
Description: Park and Trail Partnership Grants, administered by Parks & Trails New York in partnership with the NY Office of Parks, Recreation and Historic Preservation (OPRHP), support nonprofit partner organizations in their efforts to enhance the preservation, stewardship, interpretation, maintenance, and promotion of New York State parks, trails, state historic sites, and public lands. Support is provided in four categories: Stewardship and Public Access Grants of up to $300,000; Capacity and Organizational Effectiveness Grants of up to $200,000; Professional Development Grants of up to $150,000; and Step-Up Grants of up to $20,000. Grants are limited to nonprofit organizations holding formal agreements with OPRHP or the NYS Department of Environmental Conservation.

Social Justice Fund NW: Emerging Justice Fund

Application deadline: The remaining 2025 deadlines are July 11 and September 12.
Geographic scope: ID, MT, OR, WA, and WY
Grant amount: $10,000
Description: Social Justice Fund NW (SJF) provides support to foster significant, long-term social justice solutions throughout  Idaho, Montana, Oregon, Washington, and Wyoming. SJF's Emerging Justice Fund provides unrestricted funds to resource grassroots organizing for communities that have been and continue to be targeted by federal, state, and local policies, with priority on organizations that are Black-, Indigenous-, or people of color-led. Applicants must work within SJF’s community-organizing framework and be a nonprofit organization, tribal agency, or fiscally sponsored group.

Department of Agriculture

Application deadline: June 27, 2025
Description: The Local Food Promotion Program funds projects that develop, coordinate, and expand local and regional food business enterprises that engage as intermediaries in indirect producer-to-consumer marketing to help increase access to and availability of locally and regionally produced agricultural products. The program focuses on supporting the processing, aggregation, distribution, and storage of local and regional food products that are marketed locally or regionally; encouraging the development of value-added agricultural products; assisting with business development plans and feasibility studies; developing marketing strategies for producers of local food and value-added products; facilitating regional food chain coordination and mid-tier value chain development; promoting new business opportunities and marketing strategies to reduce on-farm food waste; responding to changing technology needs in indirect producer-to-consumer marketing; and covering expenses related to costs incurred in obtaining food safety certification and improvements to food safety practices and equipment.
