Grants Preserve Knowledge of Endangered Material Practices
Endangered Material Knowledge Programme
Application deadline: January 19, 2025
Grant amount: Documentation Grants range up to £100,000; Digitisation Grants range up to £20,000.
Description: The Endangered Material Knowledge Programme (EMKP), funded by Arcadia and hosted by the Department of Africa, Oceania and the Americas at the British Museum, aims to help preserve the knowledge of endangered material practices for future generations. EMKP provides support through two programs: Documentation Grants provide funding to document living material knowledge systems and practices in danger of disappearing. This includes knowledge systems associated with the making, use, repair, and re-purposing of material objects, spaces, architecture, performances, and environments. Digitisation Grants support the digitization of legacy collections and research records pertaining to material knowledge that is now endangered or was endangered at the time the research was taking place. Individuals, communities, and institutions are eligible to apply. Individual applicants not affiliated with an institution must contact EMKP prior to submitting an application.
Program Enables Organizations to Scale Social Impact
100X Impact Accelerator
Application deadline: January 6, 2025
Grant amount: Selected social ventures receive £150,000 of catalytic capital.
Description: The 100X Impact Accelerator, an initiative of the London School of Economics, aims to empower radical thinkers everywhere to deliver the most impact at scale with world-class research in a world-class accelerator. The Accelerator seeks changemakers with a social venture burning with purpose and potential and welcomes applicants from various backgrounds and corners of the world. Impact areas consist of climate and environment, democracy, education, equitable economies, happiness and well-being, health and social care, new frontiers, and refugees and cohesion. The Accelerator is open to nonprofit and for-profit impact-first organizations with a clear social or environmental mission, including registered charities, nonprofit organizations, or social enterprises, which are currently scaling social impact in one of the eight impact areas.
Prize Honors Climate Contributions
Gulbenkian Prize for Humanity
Application deadline: January 31, 2025
Grant amount: An award of €1,000,000 is made.
Description: The Gulbenkian Prize for Humanity, an initiative of the Calouste Gulbenkian Foundation, recognizes outstanding contributions to climate action and climate solutions that inspire hope and possibility. The Prize recognizes individuals, organizations, and groups leading society’s efforts to tackle climate change. Nominations are sought that demonstrate evidence of transformative solutions and the potential for long-term change; clear, scalable solutions with real impact and proven environmental and social benefits; work that inspires and demonstrates active leadership; and ideas that meet today’s needs and anticipate tomorrow’s challenges. Fellowship Fosters the Field of Psychedelic Journalism
The Ferriss – UC Berkeley Psychedelic Journalism Fellowship
Application deadline: January 31, 2025
Grant amount: Ten grants of $10,000 will be awarded.
Description: The Ferriss – UC Berkeley Psychedelic Journalism Fellowship, an initiative of the U.C. Berkeley Center for the Science of Psychedelics, aims to establish and nurture a new generation of journalists covering the frontlines of the rapidly changing field of psychedelic journalism. The Fellowship offers ten $10,000 reporting grants per year to journalists reporting in-depth print and audio stories on the science, policy, business, and culture of this new era of psychedelics. The Fellowship is looking for big, underreported, narratively compelling stories placed in rich political, economic, scientific, and cultural contexts. Journalists residing both inside and outside the U.S. are eligible to apply.

STEM Education Initiatives Supported in Brazil and Mexico
Latimpacto

Geographic scope: Brazil and Mexico
Grant amount: Unrestricted grants starting at USD $25,000 will be awarded.
Description: Latimpacto is a network of capital providers committed to increasing the flow of human, intellectual, and financial capital to generate impact in Latin America and the Caribbean. Latinimpacto’s STEM Fund is currently supporting efforts in Brazil and Mexico to expand and improve access to STEM education for marginalized and historically excluded populations. Support is provided to non-governmental organizations working to increase access to STEM learning methodologies, resources, and products for students in their last year of basic secondary education in Brazil and Mexico; early-stage social enterprises with proven products and business models that seek to scale and replicate their products and services related to STEM in vulnerable communities; and nonprofit organizations that develop extracurricular programs to teach STEM capabilities and tools. Funding Targets Gender Equality and WASH in Developing Countries
Arisaig Partners Foundation

Grant amount: $30,000 to $100,000 annually for up to three years
Description: The Arisaig Partners Foundation supports charitable organizations in developing countries. The Foundation’s current focus is on gender equality with a strong emphasis on water, sanitation, and hygiene (WASH), and microfinance via subsidized loans to female entrepreneurs. Grants Foster Independence and Rights for Individuals With Disabilities
Abilis Foundation

Geographic scope: Ethiopia, Malawi, Mozambique, Myanmar, Nepal, Tajikistan, Tanzania, Uganda, Ukraine, and Vietnam
Grant amount: Grants generally range from €3,500 to €15,000.
Description: The Abilis Foundation is a Finnish non-governmental organization founded by persons with disabilities that works in fragile contexts of developing countries. Current program countries include Ethiopia, Malawi, Mozambique, Myanmar, Nepal, Tajikistan, Tanzania, Ukraine, Uganda, and Vietnam. Support is provided for projects planned and implemented by persons with disabilities that aim to advance their human rights, participation, and independent living, with a special focus on improving the status of women and girls with disabilities. Organizations run by individuals with disabilities in the target countries are eligible to apply. Applicants must contact the country coordinators for each focus country for application guidelines and forms.
Giving Program Improves the Quality of Life in Company Communities
Roche Corporate Giving Program

Geographic scope: Company communities in the Americas, Europe, Africa, Asia, and Oceania
Description: The Roche Corporate Giving Program seeks to enhance the quality of life for the employees and residents in company communities around the world. The company provides support in the areas of humanitarian and social development; science and education, including literacy; arts and culture, including activities that explore the parallels between innovation in art and science; and community and the environment, including initiatives that build stronger communities and respond to natural disasters sustainably. Funding Promotes Sustainable Agriculture in Developing Countries

Geographic scope: Developing countries (Applicants may be based in any country.)
Description: The Just Rural Transition Support program aims to create and support a global community of practice of non-state actors to engage on issues related to sustainable agriculture and the food systems transition. This is a £65 million five-year program that will support the design and implementation of public policies and support that scale sustainable agriculture approaches in developing countries to benefit people (healthy diets, incomes), climate (mitigation, adaptation), and nature (protect and restore biodiversity). Support will be provided over four years to deliver a well-organized, non-state-actor community that can influence policy reform processes and contribute to driving positive food systems change. This will focus on convening and curating a community of practice, knowledge sharing and communications on food systems transformation, and collaborating to develop key political and policy messages to take to government and to global convenings and platforms. Nonprofit organizations based in any country are eligible to apply.
Grant Aims to Preserve Cultural Heritage in Morocco

Geographic scope: Morocco
Grant amount: One award of $10,000 to $500,000 will be made.
Description: The U.S. Mission to Morocco has issued a call for proposals for the Ambassador’s Fund for Cultural Preservation aimed at advancing the U.S.-Morocco bilateral goal of promoting economic growth and preserving cultural heritage. The program supports the preservation of archaeological sites, historic buildings and monuments, museum collections, and forms of traditional cultural expression, such as indigenous languages and crafts. Eligible applicants consist of Moroccan nonprofit and non-governmental organizations, Moroccan public entities, and U.S. nonprofit organizations and higher education institutions.
