Award Recognizes Achievements in Maternal Health
MSD for Mothers: Kenneth C. Frazier Award for Maternal Health Equity

Grant amount: The winner receives an award of up to $250,000
Description: The Kenneth C. Frazier Award for Maternal Health Equity, presented by MSD for Mothers, is an annual prize that recognizes one nonprofit organization for its commitment to and progress towards more equitable, more respectful, higher quality maternal health for all. Nominated organizations may be located anywhere in the world and must have made a demonstrated and distinctive impact in advancing maternal health outcomes. Priority is given to organizations led by individuals representative of the population served. The winning organization receives a one-time grant to support its work to advance maternal health equity.
Funds Target Workforce Development, Veterans, and Community Resilience
RTX: Connect Up
Application deadline: July 31, 2025
Description: RTX's corporate giving program, Connect Up, aims to lift up underserved communities, inspire the workforce of the next generation, and build a more equitable, prosperous world. Connect Up supports nonprofit organizations globally in the following areas of interest: Lifelong Learning, focused on STEM education and building a career-ready, diverse talent pipeline for the workplace of the future; Honoring Service, focused on helping veterans identify career opportunities as they transition to the civilian workforce, keep military families connected, and inspire their children through STEM education; and Community Resilience, focused on addressing food security, community infrastructure, emergency disaster relief, and conservation. U.S. nonprofit organizations as well as organizations outside the U.S. with equivalent status are eligible to apply.
Fellowship Connects Leaders From Africa and the African Diaspora
Adinkra Fellowship
Application deadline: July 3, 2025
Grant amount: A travel stipend of $1,500 is provided.
Description: The Adinkra Fellowship is committed to building constructive ties between Africa and the African Diaspora. The Fellowship connects rising leaders aged 40 and under from African countries and the African diaspora who are inspiring transformative change in their communities and across Black communities globally. Eligible sectors include business, technology and innovation, arts and culture, civil society, and public service. Fellows participate in two transformative trips to different countries (one in an African country and one in a country with strong African heritage), engaging in a leadership program designed to build bridges, cultivate lasting relationships, and inspire transformative action.
Science Journalists Honored
AAAS Kavli Science Journalism Awards
Application deadline: August 1, 2025
Grant amount: In each category, there are two awards: Gold, with a prize of $5,000, and Silver, with a prize of $3,500.
Description: The AAAS Kavli Science Journalism Awards, an initiative of the American Association for the Advancement of Science and the Kavli Foundation, honor professional journalists for distinguished reporting on the sciences, engineering, and mathematics. Awards are made in eight categories: Science Reporting (Large Outlet, Small Outlet, and In-Depth), Magazine, Video (In-Depth Reporting and Spot News/Feature Reporting), Audio, and Children's Science News. The contest is open to journalists worldwide doing work for independent news organizations.

Efforts to Protect Children in Latin America Supported
Hispanics in Philanthropy: Fondo LILAS (LILAS Fund)
Application deadline: June 27, 2025
Geographic scope: Latin America
Grant amount: General operating support of up to $40,000 over 24 months is provided.
Description: Fondo LILAS (LILAS Fund or Leaders for Childhoods Free from Sexual Violence Fund), an initiative of Hispanics in Philanthropy, provides general operating support to Latin American organizations working to prevent sexual violence against children and adolescents and to assist survivors in seeking justice, reparation, and accountability. Support is also provided to groups promoting community and political advocacy on this issue. In order to be eligible, organizations must be based and legally incorporated in a Latin American country or have a fiscal sponsor in the region.
Grants Expand Pathology Services in Developing Countries
College of American Pathologists Foundation

Geographic scope: Developing countries
Grant amount: Up to $10,000
Description: The mission of the College of American Pathologists Foundation (CAP Foundation) is to improve people’s health by developing tomorrow’s pathology leaders and mobilizing pathologists to expand health equity in medically underserved communities within the U.S. and globally. The Foundation's Global Pathology Development Grant seeks to improve global health and the science and expansion of pathology and pathology services. Grants support projects in under-resourced areas across the globe that develop, expand, and sustain the delivery of pathology services through education and training, patient care, laboratory quality, or enhanced technology and laboratory diagnostics. Support is provided for innovative community health, public education, or service initiatives in a number of areas. Eligible applicants include nonprofit global pathology and healthcare organizations based in the U.S. and abroad, pathologists, and CAP Fellows and CAP International Fellows. (Support is also available through the Global Pathology Education Award, which provides a one-year membership to the International Fellow of the CAP as well as up to $200 towards the purchase of any CAP publication or CAP educational materials.)
Funding Targets Poverty and the Environment in Selected Countries
Badur Foundation

Geographic scope: Hungary, Laos, Malta, and the U.K.
Description: The Badur Foundation aims to nurture change at the grassroots level, working towards a more sustainable future in Hungary, Laos, Malta, and the U.K. The Foundation supports initiatives in two thematic areas: 1) tackling poverty and inequality, including by increasing education and improving prospects; and 2) addressing environmental challenges, with a focus on improving access to nature, promoting sustainable food systems, and supporting rewilding efforts. Applications are accepted from grassroots organizations based in an eligible country. Priority is given to small and medium sized organizations that are locally embedded, operate at a community level, and provide sustained, holistic support.

YOU(th) CARE for Change
Application deadline: June 30, 2025
Geographic scope: Albania, Belgium, Czech Republic, France, Greece, Hungary, Italy, Luxembourg, Morocco, Serbia, Spain, and Tunisia
Grant amount: Grants range up to 15,000 euros.
Description: YOU(th) CARE for Change, co-funded by the EU-DEAR Programme, supports youth across 12 countries in the EU and in the Mediterranean Area in tackling global challenges. The CARE Actions call for proposals supports youth-led initiatives that drive social and ecological transformation in the following thematic areas: 1) LEARN (Innovative Action for Global Citizenship), supporting initiatives to teach and learn about sustainability, democracy, gender equality, and more in formal and non-formal education communities; 2) ACT (Innovative Social and Ecological Initiatives), funding initiatives in the social and solidarity economy and space regeneration; 3) ENGAGE (Innovative Advocacy and Awareness Campaigns), providing support for care-based, youth-led advocacy campaigns to create awareness and push for change. Nonprofit organizations, civil society organizations, associations of civil society organizations, and formal youth groups and networks are eligible to apply.

UNESCO-Uzbekistan Beruniy Prize for Scientific Research on the Ethics of AI

Grant amount: Three awards of $30,000 are made.
Description: The UNESCO-Uzbekistan Beruniy Prize for Scientific Research on the Ethics of AI aims to promote and honor excellence in the field of ethics of AI, multidisciplinary research, and scientific cooperation. The Prize is presented every two years to three prize winners for groundbreaking contributions to AI ethics research, international scientific collaboration, and the practical application, which had a significant transformational impact on a national, regional, or global scale. Individuals, institutions, and organizations are eligible to be nominated. Nominations of women scientists and practitioners are encouraged.

Description: The Grant Assistance for Grassroots Human Security Projects Programme supports development and human security projects at the grassroots level in Zambia.
